Brett Nagle

  • Grade: 11th
  • Position: Shooting/Point Guard
  • School: Friends Select School
About Court Sense:

I first went to Irv’s training sessions hoping to improve my ball handling and passing skills. Over the last two years those skills have improved, but now I can say my footwork has also improved. Most important of all, working with Irv has made me a more confident player with the ball. He has helped to increase my awareness of what happens and what could happen on the court. I am much more aware of the mental aspects of the game. Although my instincts still come into play on the court, I now consider myself to be a student of the game.

Experience:

Currently a junior, Brett is a three year varsity letter winner, a two year varsity starter and is a second year varsity captain for the Friends Select Falcons of the powerful Friends School League. Primarily a shooting or point guard, at 6’3″ he has played all positions on the floor and is the team’s defensive stopper. In their second year of eligibility, Brett helped lead Friends Select into the semifinal round of the postseason PIAA Tournament. In consecutive years (2008 and 2009), Brett was named to the All Tournament Team in the Stan Novak Holiday Tournament held at Springfield High School. In 9th grade he was named an All Star the 9th/10th Grade Division of the Narberth Basketball League and was moved up to the 11th/12th Grade division as a 10th grader. As a sophomore he participated in the annual Donofrio Classic Tournament with his team advancing to the third round. Brett has played with the Philadelphia Freedom (2007/08) and Palumbo Panthers (2008/09) AAU teams and currently plays for Team Phenom with and against the best high school players in Philadelphia and the surrounding area.
